Bryce's Goat Army is a small Nigerian Dwarf Goat Farm in Central Minnesota. Our goats are raised with love and shown in memory of our son Bryce Marion Mink, who passed away unexpectedly a month before we were able to surprise him with two beautiful doelings on his birthday.

Who doesn't love goats?!? These cute playful animals can make anyone smile. We call them our emotional support goats for a reason and their friendly personality is among the reasons Bryce wanted his very own goats.

Macaroni “Mac” (buckskin with white) will be sold as a pet whether and our sweet little Penguin “Ping” (black doeling with white) might just stay here forever 💕
All their names are penguin species except for our new baby Penguin who is actually named after the magpie in the movie Penguin Bloom 😉

Check out Adelie’s first freshener (pre-freshened) udder! I might have to learn how to milk test this year. We potentially have a 4*M, 6*M, and a 7*M. Those are great milk lines!! For those waiting for baby goat updates… we are STILL WAITING! Fairy lost her plug yesterday. Adelie has been having discharge all week, and I know Sparrow was for sure due yesterday. The babies have to come out sometime soon, but they’ve been just kidding all week 🤷‍♀️😉🤣.
I have the spy cam sound on at night so I can hear if one starts pushing. Well, all I heard at 2am was all of them chowing on hay and scratching their backs on anything and everything available. Silly party girls!!

Today is Sparrow’s due date!! But, I think she’s going to make us wait a few days to meet the newest member(s) of Bryce’s Goat Army. Fingers crossed for a beautiful little doe kid 💕
Baby watch also involves the udder watch, so here’s a picture of her cute little first freshener udder, before freshening. Looks promising for her to earn her 6*M. Goat people know, but for others, this number indicates the number of consecutive generations in the maternal line that have all earned their stars ⭐️😁

A little extra love from the other side!

The very first baby goat born in Bryce’s Goat Army had a cute little heart on his back. Then, I noticed that this little chick has a heart too. I didn’t notice it at first because her wing covers half of the heart when she’s standing. But, when she was napping I noticed this perfectly shaped heart.

Maybe I’m just desperately searching for signs from the other side OR maybe, just maybe.. God has heard my daily prayer to give Bryce a kiss from me and tell him that I love him, so God gave Bryce a little heart shaped stamp to respond with an “I love you too, mom.” I could picture Bryce stamping little baby animals with a heart stamp.

I know there’s WAY more to the afterlife than this. Way more than I can comprehend, but today I’m just sticking with the thought that Bryce is sending us little love notes from the other side.

The date on the memorial stone is the 12th, but “that day” - the - THAT DAY.. the day our world turned upside down was the 10th. That is the day we heard Bryce’s sweet voice for the last time. That is the day we were told that he wasn’t going to make it. That is the day we had to tell family of the tragic news. That is the day everyone dropped to their knees and began praying for a miracle. March 10 is that day - the day our hearts were shattered and our life changed forever 💔💔💔
Take a moment today to remember Bryce and say an extra prayer for our family. Life without him is hard.

The first kids born in Bryce’s Goat Army arrived last night a little after 7pm! I’ve checked multiple times and they’re both bucklings. I was hoping for at least one doe kid, but we’re happy that mama Alice (Castle Rock Alice in Wonderland) and boys are all happy and healthy. These two will help bring smiles in times of grief and remind us of our sweet little animal lover, Bryce. We wouldn’t have any of them if it wasn’t for his love of this cute little animal. Bryce would absolutely adore these two! #missingmyson

Learning to appreciate the simple things in life. After Bryce passed we no longer use the term “blessed”. I’d say “robbed” is a term that better explains how we feel, but somehow through those feelings we seem to appreciate the smallest simplest moments more now than ever before. Every little day to day sound associated with our simple chores is heard, processed, and appreciated. We still love our big adventures, but the day to day - the simple mundane chores that I never really listened to before has now become a place of comfort and simplicity. The thing that really hits me is that we wouldn’t have any of these animals if it weren’t for our little animal lover, Bryce. He definitely took after me and his grandmas in that aspect! If you would have asked Wes a year ago if we would have a cute little hobby farm today he would have said, “NO WAY”! Now look at him!
